Coin Rare Grade

Coin Rare Grade
How do you decide what to grade when you find a safe deposit full of old sealed coins?

I’m a simple collector. I use PCGS and NGC and have a decent collection. But my friend’s father recently passed away and had what she calls a huge collection of outstanding quality coins (1880 – 1940s; all untouched and sealed. She states many are the larger coins and several gold pieces.) They were very well off. She’s not a collector and I haven’t seen any of the coins but she tells me they fill a large safe deposit box. She’s asking me how she can go about getting all of them graded and marketed.

So just assuming they are rare condition coins and highly desirable, where should I refer her? Is there a clearing house? Should she put them online for a general idea? is there a collector’s website that could help her?

Thank you for any suggestions.

hi grey……i hate cut and paste links but the info you are looking for is not really limited so i have a link for you that should at least give you a platform to start from….i have checked several sites in the past to value paper money with serial numbers that were odd but of course when you are dealing online you have to be concerned with the fact that you cannot actually walk in and talk to someone face to face and the integrity or lack thereof of with whom you are dealing….perhaps the link will lead you to what you are looking for
